St. Louis woman injured in St. Charles crash

ST. CHARLES, MO – A St. Louis woman was injured in a crash last night that involved a Wentzville teen and caused significant vehicular damage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Missouri Highway 364 and Arena Parkway.

A person driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am attempted to overtake a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 16-year-old girl from Wentzville. The Pontiac struck the Volkswagen, and then smashed into a concrete wall.

Ashley Stratmann, 28, of St. Louis, was a passenger in the Pontiac and was taken to the hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The condition and identity of the driver are unknown at this time.

The teen driver of the Volkswagen is not reported as injured. She was wearing her seatbelt.

MSHP reports that the Pontiac was totaled, and the Volkswagen received extensive damage.
