Help If You’ve Been
Misdiagnosed
with Cervical
Cancer

Pap smear testing allows healthcare providers to detect precancerous cells early, making it possible to eradicate the threat before cancer occurs.

Unfortunately, there is now reason to believe that new Pap smear technology may have resulted in an increased number of misread Pap smear tests and instances of misdiagnosed cervical cancer.

After having a Pap smear, numerous women were told they didn’t have cervical cancer when in reality they did.

Thousands of women who have been diagnosed with active or advanced stages of cervical cancer following a false negative Pap smear are pursuing defective product lawsuits.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cervical cancer following an inaccurate (that is, a false negative) Pap smear, you may be entitled to compensation.

Pap smears have three possible results: normal (the cervical cells appear to be healthy), uncertain (requiring further testing), and abnormal (requiring either further testing or a procedure to remove the risk). If you’ve received a “normal” result when precancerous or cancerous cells were present, that is known as a false negative.

When given a false negative, undetected precancerous or cancerous cells can develop and continue to spread.

You may be asking yourself, Can an abnormal Pap smear be wrong too? The answer is yes. Abnormal results usually require further testing to ensure that there is an actual risk.

There are Pap smear dangers arising from new methods that use screening technology to increase efficiency in labs. With modern instruments in place, only a sampling of each Pap smear slide is actually reviewed by human eyes. If irregular cells are not within the featured area, the Pap smear results will be inaccurate, potentially leading to false negatives.

If your cervical cancer diagnosis occurred after you received a false negative Pap smear, you may be entitled to compensation.

How can we help you?

Before litigating your case, OnderLaw will evaluate your claim. This process involves collecting medical records and other evidence from you and your healthcare providers.

Once we have the appropriate records, we confirm whether your injuries or diagnoses meet the criteria needed to file a lawsuit.

How can we help you?

If your misread Pap smear led to a diagnosis of cervical cancer, you may be entitled to compensation.

How much compensation plaintiffs will receive in their cervical cancer lawsuit settlement depends on several factors. Past plaintiffs have recovered compensation for damages such as

  • past and future medical bills
  • loss of enjoyment of life
  • loss of consortium (loss of comfort, care, and society)
  • emotional distress
  • pain and suffering
  • property damage
  • lost wages
  • lost earning capacity
  • out-of-pocket expenses
  • psychological trauma

Although medical bills are usually the most pressing concern after an illness or injury, the financial losses you may experience from being unable to work must also be considered.

If your doctor determines you can’t return to work, you may be eligible for lost wages from the responsible party as well.

How can we help you?

Deciding to file a lawsuit against a negligent party is a big decision. You may feel confused or overwhelmed about bringing a suit against them. However, it’s important to remember that a lawsuit can simply be a means of recovering the financial compensation you need to recover from your physical and emotional trauma. Moreover, filing a lawsuit against these companies can help hold them accountable for their negligence.

When you choose our lawyers to litigate your cervical cancer lawsuit, your rights will be enforced and protected.

If you or a family member was diagnosed with cervical cancer following an inaccurate Pap smear (false negative), you may be entitled to compensation.

For them to have already have met for settlement talks in my case is quite impressive. I have never had any communication issues with them. They are quite thorough and have no problem updating you on your case, just give them a call. Be proactive in your communication with them and patient as they fight for us. I understand concerns regarding the time frame, I often daydream of being financially secure and providing a better life for my family, that day will come. I trust Onder Law.

Suzanne Reynolds

I have nothing but confidence in Onder Law Firm. I’ve had the honor of meeting several of their staff at a social event and my fiance has since signed with them to handle a claim against a company. What alot of these people who have left bad reviews about them fail to realize is that their types of cases don’t get resolved overnight, they have a massive caseload on top of an already delayed court system, and they’re not going to call you just to say they have no update on your case They are going up against billion and trillion dollar companies who have an endless supply of resources. Be patient and let your attorneys do what they do…… THEY WILL WIN FOR YOU AND THEY WILL WIN BIG. They’ve never hidden the fact that the process will be long. But it WILL be worth it.

Robert Read

They are so friendly and caring. I trust them. They are doing the right thing for me and my family.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

People who were diagnosed with active or advanced-stage cervical cancer following an inaccurate (false negative) Pap smear may be eligible to file a claim. You may also be able to file a claim on behalf of a family member who fits this criteria.

Any woman can develop cervical cancer, and misread Pap smears can happen to anyone. Individuals who are given false negative Pap smear results lose the opportunity to eradicate precancerous and cancerous cells early, increasing their chances of developing cervical cancer.

When you file your cervical cancer lawsuit with OnderLaw, there are no upfront fees or obligations. We work on a contingency basis so there are never any legal fees unless we win compensation for your case.

If you want to learn more about time limits that could prevent you from filing your claim, reach out to OnderLaw to have your case reviewed immediately.
