Pharmaceutical Lawsuit for Pancreas
and Gallbladder Problems After Victoza Use

Victoza is an injectable medication commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes. It was approved by the FDA for use in adults in 2010, and in 2019 the FDA approved its use in juveniles above the age of 10.

Victoza works by acting like a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), an incretin hormone that patients with diabetes often lack. It slows the digestive process, prevents the liver from creating excess sugar, and promotes insulin production in the pancreas in order to help regulate glucose levels in the bloodstream.

These Victoza pancreatic cancer findings prompted the FDA Victoza black box warning in 2013. Surprisingly, however, the new Victoza warning label did not include the term “pancreatic cancer.” The warning does refer to the increased risk of thyroid C-cell tumors associated with Victoza use.

Many pharmaceutical companies, including Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Victoza, have failed to inform patients about potential health risks associated with their medications. Both the links between Victoza and pancreatic cancer and between Victoza and thyroid cancer were revealed in medical studies long before Novo Nordisk began including a warning on Victoza.

Patients who weren’t informed of the serious health risks of Victoza may be entitled to compensation to help with their treatment and recovery. OnderLaw helps clients recover compensation and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their negligence.

Victoza side effects
and risks

However, because Victoza stimulates pancreatic activity, some patients experience pancreatic problems after Victoza use. For example, patients who take Victoza are 3.7 times more likely to develop pancreatitis than patients not taking Victoza.

Acute pancreatitis from Victoza is a serious condition and can be life-threatening if it’s not promptly and properly treated. Moreover, several studies have identified a possible link between Victoza and pancreatic cancer. One study in particular, published in February 2013, found cancerous cells in the pancreases of many subjects who used Victoza.

When companies don’t properly inform their patients about health risks associated with use of their medication, they can face pharmaceutical lawsuits initiated by the patients who suffered as a result. The patients can then use the funds they receive to cover the costs of their treatment and other expenses incurred due to their health complications.

Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of type 2 diabetes medication Victoza, is one company that has faced pharmaceutical lawsuits in recent years. Patients who suffer from pancreatic cancer or thyroid cancer as a result of Victoza use may receive compensation because the link between Victoza and pancreatic cancer and the link between Victoza and thyroid cancer has been sufficiently demonstrated.

Lawsuits against Victoza for pancreatic cancer, acute pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, or thyroid cancer are not class action suits: each case is individually considered and compensation is unique to the suffering endured by the plaintiff. This individual consideration means you may be entitled to significant compensation if you or a loved one experienced severe health issues.

I have nothing but confidence in Onder Law Firm. I’ve had the honor of meeting several of their staff at a social event and my fiance has since signed with them to handle a claim against a company. What alot of these people who have left bad reviews about them fail to realize is that their types of cases don’t get resolved overnight, they have a massive caseload on top of an already delayed court system, and they’re not going to call you just to say they have no update on your case They are going up against billion and trillion dollar companies who have an endless supply of resources. Be patient and let your attorneys do what they do…… THEY WILL WIN FOR YOU AND THEY WILL WIN BIG. They’ve never hidden the fact that the process will be long. But it WILL be worth it.

They are so friendly and caring. I trust them. They are doing the right thing for me and my family.
