FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – A woman was injured as a result of a rear-end crash this afternoon in Franklin County that was caused by inattentive driving.
The accident happened just after 2 p.m. today on Highway 47, south of Myrick Manor, states a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Brent L. Burrows, 29, of Ownesville, was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima north on Hwy 47 and slowed to make a left-hand turn, yielding to oncoming traffic. Nichole M. Saucier, 27, of Union, was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima behind him. Saucier failed to notice Burrows due to distracted driving, the report says, and the front of her Altima collided with the rear of his vehicle.
Burrows was wearing his seatbelt during the crash, the report says. His vehicle sustained moderate damage but was able to be driven from the scene.
Saucier was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment of moderate injuries. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of impact.
Saucier’s Altima was totaled in the accident.
