ELSBERRY, MO (LINCOLN COUNTY) – Three people were killed in a head-on collision in Lincoln County on Thursday morning, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened southwest of Elsberry on Route JJ, west of Lakeview Drive, at 6:15 a.m.
The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet 1500, 23-year-old Charles J. Edgar, of O’Fallon, put on the brakes, causing his vehicle to skid across the roadway and into the lanes of oncoming traffic. There, the pickup truck crashed head-on with a 2007 Toyota Tundra, driven by 40-year-old Elsberry man Richard E. Lamb.
Edgar, Lamb, and a passenger in the Chevrolet, 41-year-old Branson woman Denise L. Presley, were pronounced dead at the scene at 7:15 a.m.
None of the victims were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
