St. Louis – Multiple Injuries In Head-On Interstate Accident

A head-on crash on the highway in St. Louis Friday evening resulted in multiple injuries.

The incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of I-270 just west of Riverview Drive. At 8:30 p.m., a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 driven by a 71-year-old female drove the wrong way and crashed head-on with a 2006 GMC Envoy driven by a 22-year-old motorist. The collision forced the Chevy pickup truck to roll over and crash into a highway barrier. Just a few minutes later, a 1991 Ford Mustang approached the scene and was unable to avoid the disabled truck, crashing into it. Emergency responders transported seven motorists to nearby hospitals for treatment. The incident is currently under investigation.
