Three vehicles collided on the highway in St. Louis late Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred near the junction of I-55 and Butler Hill Road. At 10:24 p.m., a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by 33-year-old Alecia R. Adams was traveling south when it suddenly swerved to the right, hitting a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 66-year-old Ricky L. Eaker. At this point, a 2019 Freightliner operated by 62-year-old Vertis L. Lee was behind the two vehicles and could not slow down in time, crashing into the rear of the Hyundai. Eaker and Lee were not seriously hurt in the collision, while Adams sustained significant injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
Road incidents frequently injure or kill people, making it crucial to identify causes/culprits as quickly as possible. Having said that, victims of accidents, or their families, are advised to consult personal injury/accident experts so that all appropriate options can be explored and pursued.
