A motorist was seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Neosho early Monday evening.
At around 6:05 p.m., a vehicle traveling west on Holly Road veered off the roadway about five miles northwest of the city center. 28-year-old Desiree R. Ballard was thrown off the car and sustained serious injuries. She was immediately taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin for treatment. Authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the incident and are still investigating the case.
Among other possibilities, vehicle defects/failures have caused accidents in the past, and authorities will always look at this and other factors when investigating these incidents.
