BONNE TERRE, MO (ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY) – A man was seriously injured Wednesday night in St. Francois County after colliding with a vacant vehicle while allegedly fleeing from a police officer, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Highway 47, near Spruce Street, at about 8:45 p.m.
Mineral Point man Justin J. Parrish, operating a 1998 Suzuki GSX 600 F motorcycle, was reportedly fleeing from a Bonne Terre officer when he failed to safely round a curve. The motorcycle then ran off the side of the roadway and collided with a parked and vacant 2000 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.
Parrish, 28, was ejected from the motorcycle and was taken to Mercy South with serious wounds. He was reportedly wearing a helmet.
Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
There is no word at this point on possible charges.
