Multiple charges have been filed against a motorist following a recent crash in Centerview.
At 11:57 p.m. Monday last week, 23-year-old Emily A. Greer of Centerview was injured when the 2017 Chevy she was driving was struck by a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by 33-year-old Kenneth D. Brickey of Knob Noster. Brickey attempted to cross US-50 without warning and this led to the collision. Greer was quickly transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. The investigation that followed revealed that Brickey was under the influence at the time of the crash. He is currently facing charges of failure to yield, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, and DUI.
Motorists suspected of DUI are immediately apprehended and stopped from possibly causing more harm. Needless to say, this type of negligent behavior should never be tolerated anywhere. That said, motorists injured due to DUI are advised to consult personal injury experts to determine if there are legal avenues that can be pursued post-accident.
