TROY, MO – A 60-year-old Louisburg driver was injured in a rear-end chain-reaction collision on Highway 47 on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old male driver was traveling east on Highway 47 in a 2015 Jeep Renegade. He rear-ended a 2002 Ford Explorer that was stopped for a vehicle turning left. The impact pushed the 2002 Explorer into the rear of a 2014 Ford Explorer that was also waiting for the other vehicle to turn. Police report the accident happened at Westborough Drive around 3:45 p.m.
Shelly C. Tinsley, the driver of the 2014 Explorer, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for minor injuries.
All drivers were wearing seat belts.
Both the Jeep and the 2002 Explorer sustained extensive damages and the 2014 Explorer sustained minor damages.
