Two people killed after Buick crashes into utility pole

ARNOLD, MO – Two people were killed after a 1998 Buick Regal crashed into a utility pole on Jeffco Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 34-year-old Joseph L. Resinger was traveling north on Jeffco Boulevard when he traveled off the east side of the road and struck a utility pole. Police report the fatal crash happened north of Riverbluff Drive around 2:58 a.m.

Resinger was pronounced dead at the crash scene at 3:30 a.m. He was wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the Buick, 19-year-old Alexis E. Summers, was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seat belt. Police report she was transported to Mercy Hospital South and passed away there from her injuries at 7:23 a.m.

The Buick was totaled.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
