Update: 32-year-old man injured in yesterday’s I-55 crash

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 32-year-old man from Belleville, IL was injured in Tuesday afternoon’s crash on southbound I-55.

This is an update to a previous post.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael J. McCalla failed to account for a semi when he merged into another lane on southbound I-55 at the Reavis Barracks Road exit (199). His 2018 Jeep Renegade hit the semi around 3:20 p.m.

McCalla was transported to Mercy Hospital South for minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The crash blocked two lanes on southbound I-55 for an unknown amount of time. All lanes are now cleared.

Police report the Jeep sustained moderate damages and the semi sustained minor damages.
