Driver falls asleep at the wheel on Highway 100

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – On Tuesday evening, a woman suffered serious injuries when she fell asleep while driving and then crashed into a tree.

At 5:22 on June 2, 47-year-old Jennifer Moody fell asleep while driving her 2011 Ford Taurus. Moody was traveling eastbound on Highway near Jones Lane when she lost control of the car. The vehicle drove off the right side of the road and came to stop when it crashed into a tree.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Moody was seriously injured in the accident. Officers rushed Moody to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for urgent treatment.

The police do not believe any other drivers were involved in the accident.
