Two vehicles collided in Blackwell late Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Whispering Hills Drive and Highway 21. 18-year-old Matthew Weaver was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry on MO-21 South and attempting to turn left onto Whispering Hills Drive. At this point, a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 38-year-old Sarah Wood rear-ended the Toyota. According to officials, Wood failed to notice the stopped vehicle in front of her, but there is currently no word on the involvement of DUI or negligent behavior. Weaver was wearing his seat belt and was relatively unhurt, while Wood sustained serious injuries and had to be hospitalized. The incident is currently under investigation.
