A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Climax Springs early Friday morning.
At around 4:20 a.m., 53-year-old Richard D. Land of Clinton was walking along MO-7 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old John Q. Loftis of Springfield. Land sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No word yet on DUI or other factors that may have led to the crash. Officials are still investigating the incident.
