53-year-old male pedestrian dies after car hits him on Highway 367

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 53-year-old man was hit and killed while standing near his mailbox on northbound Highway 367 on Monday afternoon.

According to KMOV4 News, a 2011 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Highway 367 near Sunbeam lane when it went off the right side of the road and struck Vernon Jones.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

Local authorities pronounced Jones dead at the crash scene. The driver was transported to the hospital, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Police officers shut down Highway 367 to investigate the crash.
